The first week in January found us in our home state of Texas again!
Parties planned included Beca's baby shower for baby Petey and the Gracia Girls' Birthdays!
We woke up early to catch our 6am flight to what our weather clock indicated felt like -6 degrees!
It wasn't that bad actually because as you can see it said it was currently 12 degrees.
Ahhhh much better! Ha!
We made Beca a diaper cake for Baby Petey's baby shower!
We visited Grandma and Grandpa Bocho. Miss Sofia found Grandma's glasses amusing.
We celebrated our Birthdays at Uncle Bill & Aunt Jodie's lovely house
with an amazing cake from Cakes by C.
I had fun taking pictures and got this one of Grandma Carolyn and I.
The rings of Gracia Sister Power! Happy Birthday to us!
Happy Birthday to all 5 of our family January Birthdays!
Who can guess them all!?
After a great week of visiting with friends and family in Dallas we returned home to Somerville, MA.
The weekend of January 21st brought our first real New England snow experience.
We decided to take advantage of such beautiful snow weather and walked 5 miles
to Davis Square and back. Point A is our apartment and point B is Davis Square.
It snowed non-stop all day Saturday and accumulated 6 inches at house apartment.
We had never seen a snow-mower before. They are very handy!
On our way we walked along this bike trail that led directly into Davis Square. We saw a lady out with her cross country skis. She said she had been waiting all winter for it to snow enough for her to use them!
We decided to clean off the car before heading inside to warm up.
We were super excited to use our snow cleaning tools for the first time.
I was even more excited that our wool shirt and pants we were wearing worked so well!
I don't know how they do it but the wool they sell in the north is soft and not itchy.
So very happy to find that out!
1.28.12 Matt took me to have high tea @ The Taj Hotel for my birthday!
The Taj Hotel was the original Ritz Hotel so in essence we were having tea at The Ritz!
The Taj kept the same furnishings and style of the original tea room so it was amazing!
Of course we had to order some amazing tea!
Matt had the Imperial Tung Ting Oolong and
I experienced the amazing Shanghai Rose Tea both in beautiful Tea Pots.

We also enjoyed The Traditional Cheese Tasting: Goat Cheese and Strawberry, Gruyere and Grapes, Brie and Green Apples, along with assorted crackers.
Decadence!
We delighted in the Taj Royal. Sandwiches: Smoked Salmon and American caviar, Cucumber and Cream Cheese, Traditional Egg Salad. Canopes: Lobster Profiterole, Prosciutto and Melon.
More decadence!
We reveled in the Sweet Pastries and Petites Fours: Maple Pecan and Orange Spiced Current Scones served with Devonshire Cream and Orange Curd, Traditional Opera Torte, Apple Crumb Tartelette, Apricot Pan de Gene, Chocolate Dipped Strawberry, Chocolate Walnut Cookie, Spiced Madeleine, Pumpkin French macaroon, Tiramisu.
Way too much decadence!!!!
Our high tea experience lasted three unforgettable hours
while a solo violinist serenaded everyone from a near by corner.
Thank you Matt for a truly scrumptious Birthday!
Welcome to Matt's bearded days! ;-)
